Dr. Ben Garrido is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon who specializes in all aspects of adult spinal surgery, including cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He completed his medical school training at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, for his Doctorate of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. After residency, he completed two spine fellowship trainings in orthopedic spine surgery at world class centers of excellence including Indiana Spine Group in Indianapolis, Indiana, and AO International Spine Fellowship at Hospital del Trabajor in Santiago, Chile.
Dr. Garrido is actively involved in concierge spine surgery care; he strives to optimize patient outcomes through a personalized plan of care for each patient. He treats a spectrum of spine conditions and has interest in performing minimally invasive techniques, navigation and robotic assisted techniques. He has interest in innovative techniques and technologies and holds several spine related patents of his own. Surgery is only considered after non-operative treatments have been exhausted.
Dr. Garrido is currently an active member of the Cervical Spine Research Society and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is involved with North American Spine Society as well. He has authored numerous research publications, textbook chapters, as well as presented both nationally and internationally. His interest in innovative and evidence-based spine care provide his patients the best centered care for optimal clinical solutions.
